As part of its efforts to enhance students' legal knowledge, the College of Law at Ajman University hosted Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Ali, Senior Public Prosecutor at the Ajman Public Prosecution, who delivered a specialized lecture titled “Modern Patterns of Electronic Fraud and Methods of Prevention.”
The lecture addressed the most common forms of electronic fraud in the digital age, including phishing via email and text messages, identity theft, and scams through social media platforms. It also discussed the negative impact of these crimes on individuals and institutions, such as financial losses and privacy breaches.
In addition, the lecture shed light on the legal procedures followed to confront such crimes, ensuring swift investigations and the implementation of necessary measures. Dr. Al Ali stressed the importance of raising public awareness about the dangers of electronic fraud and how to prevent it, such as avoiding the sharing of personal or financial information with untrusted sources and regularly updating cybersecurity software.
The lecture aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical issues in the field of cybercrime, while enhancing students’ ability to understand and apply legal concepts in real-life contexts.
